Kern River Gas Transmission Company

One-Call

Kern River is a member of the one-call centers in the four states where it operates. Kern River belongs to One-Call of Wyoming, Blue Stakes of Utah, Underground Service Alert North serving Nevada and northern California, and Underground Service Alert of Southern California. These one-call centers provide their services free to anyone planning excavation, construction or blasting activities.

Whether you're a contractor, farmer or just planning to do some work around your yard that requires excavation, you must contact a one-call center at least two business days before beginning any work.

On May 1, 2007, the 811 number was launched as a new national “Call Before You Dig” phone number. One easy phone call to 811 quickly begins the process of getting underground facilities marked. 811

How One-Call Works

  • Call 811 or dial your state-specific one-call center. In Wyoming, Utah, Nevada and California you are required to provide at least a two-business-day notice before you begin excavation.
  • The one-call center will notify local utilities and companies that operate underground facilities about your project.
  • These companies take the information provided by the one-call center to determine if your project is near their underground facilities.
  • If your project is close to underground facilities, the affected utility or company will send a representative to your work site to clearly mark the route and location of their operations.
